Nigerians may just have run out of patience with Chippa United and Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi after another unassured 45 minutes against Argentina on Tuesday.
Daniel Akpeyi, who has been in the Super Eagles fold for a while, has messed up his chance of being named as Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper.
Akpeyi’s bizarre school-boy error — picking up a dropped up outside the box — was duly punished by Ever Banega in the 29th minute.
The breed of lightning that will strike anybody I hear vouching for Akpeyi after this, ehn 😐 pic.twitter.com/F4onYV0hZt

Seven minutes later, the Chippa United goalkeeper was hesitant as Pavon bore down on goal, allowing the Argentine winger time and space to play a timely pass for Aguero to double Argentina’s lead.
Just as unforgiving as Nigerians were about Ikechukwu Ezenwa four days ago, Daniel Akpeyi deservedly suffered a similar fate.
The Super Eagles recovered well to hand Jorge Sampaoli his first defeat at the helm of the Albiceleste, thriving 4-2 with Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi grabbing a brace while debutant Brian Idowu and Kelechi Iheanacho rounded off the scoring.
Akpeyi is a walking bag of nerves & costly errors. I prefer Ezenwa's dramatic, exuberant goalkeeping to this nonsense Akpeyi does in every game. Poor man's Dele Aiyenugba

Akpeyi must not and cannot make the World Cup team. It will be a crime if he does #ARGNGA

Beware of Chippa products. A Francis Uzoho may be all you need
