Super Eagles coach exempts Mikel Obi, Ighalo from Algeria clash – Reports

Super Eagles skipper John Mikel Obi and striker Odion Ighalo will both be exempted from Nigeria’s final World Cup qualifying game in Algiers, November.

Nigeria sealed qualification with a game to spare having won four of their opening 5 games in the group consisting the reigning AFCON champions.

According to SCORENigeria, Franco-German coach Gernot Rohr revealed that China based duo  John Mikel Obi and Odion Ighalo will be exempted from the game.

“For the China players, it would be difficult for them to make the game because they would be having their matches in the weekend before the game and as such it would be difficult for them to make it to Africa within the short time available.”

The Super Eagles play Algeria the following Friday and as such, camping will open officially on Tuesday.

Officials have already disclosed that Nigeria plan to train in Morocco for the Algeria game.
