Nigerian international Isaac Success says he is ready to start for Watford and he’s disappointed by those who have questioned his current fitness level.
The 20-year-old, who made his senior debut for Nigeria in Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Senegal, admits he has struggled in his first season in England, but denies suggestions he isn’t in shape to complete 90 minutes for the Hornets.
“I’m a bit disappointed, everyone at Watford says Isaac is not fit and not ready to play – but for me, I’m ok,” Success told reporters.
“I played more than 20 minutes here (Nigeria), and looked sharp and fit. I’m just waiting for that same opportunity from [Walter] Mazzarri and everything will be ok – I could play even more than 90 minutes.”
Watford head coach Walter Mazzarri has named Success in his starting line-up just once this season.
The Hornets are up against Sunderland in their next game in the Premier league on April, 1.
