Arsenal have joined the race to sign Juventus target Leon Goretzka this summer, as the player stalls on a new contract at Schalke 04.
Both clubs are keeping an eye on Goretzka’s situation as he could move on the cheap in the summer due to his contract situation.
The 22-year-old has shone in the Bundesliga in recent years, showing himself to be the latest in a long line of top young talents coming through in German football.
The Germany international has six goals and two assists in 30 appearances with the Bundesliga outfit so far this season and Juventus have been scouting the 22-year-old for very long time as the Old Lady’s director of sport Fabio Paratici is a long-time admirer of the talented midfielder.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are to set to add more steel in midfield next season after some unconvincing displays from Francis Coquelin and summer signing Granit Xhaka this term.
Goretzka is likely to cost somewhere in the region of £16million.
